Tips on helping my dog lose weight

Well, as it's said in the title, my dog is overweight and I don't know how to help her lose weight. She's already an old lady and last year went through an operation to remove a tumour (which was the reason she wouldn't be able to walk too long in the begining, coming to the point of refusing to barely walk at all). Welp, the surgery went well, she's doing fine, eating the diet food the veterinary asked us to give her at the portions it was requested, all of that. Thing is, she still can't take going on walks nor does she engage with or other dog when it comes to playing and running around (we have a decent backyard which she used to loved when she was younger). Nowadays she just seems really tired all the time but the most recent tests said she was fine (except for being obese). She is losing weight, it's just that it's being reallyyy slow and it makes me sad that, even though she still gets super pumped from seeing her leash, she can't go more than about 200 meters with it. I wish she could have a little bit more quality of life on what will probably be the last years of her life.
