I’ve got a 14 week old puppy that gets very bitey at times. He is kept on a very consistent schedule and walked 2-3 times a day. He’s hardly left alone and has toys galore. Most of the time he’s very content with his chews or toys and loves to have interaction. However, whenever we sit down on the couch he immediately begins to nip and bite hard but will not play with his toys. We have tried the “NO” and then put a toy in his mouth but he will drop the toy and lunge to nip instead. During these times we will try to get him to go outside or walk to burn some energy but he refuses to do either- he just wants to bite on us. He is teething so we will encourage him to use a chew or a frozen toy to help but at these times he has no interest in anything but biting.
Really trying to break this habit before he’s much bigger and I’m at a loss for what else we can do. It goes without saying we are very against hurting or scaring him.
