A couple of days ago I noticed my zebra finches sitting in their food bowl. I didn't think much of it but in hindsight that could be where the problem started. Last night I definitely knew something was wrong though. I was going to change their food before putting a towel over their cage so they could sleep and found they wouldn't move. They were both alive, yet again sitting in their food bowl, but they wouldn't move. They were letting me touch them, pull the bowl out of their cage and so on. They were normally pretty skittish so this was really odd, plus they looked really sleepy and kept blinking. This morning I woke up and immediately checked on them. They were both dead. I've checked online for any reasons this might've happened and found nothing useful, as everybody is attributing more than one death at the same time to bad food or large amounts of airborne gases (like deodorant). I knew what to feed them and not to spray anything in the room with them, so I don't understand why they died like this. Both of them were only three years old.
