Cat misses me, but I worry she’s sick

I just moved across the country for work, and I had to leave my precious, beloved kitty behind with my parents. When I’m home, we are inseparable; she sleeps cuddled up to me, and during the day she follows me around the house and sits on me whenever I sit or lie down. She even comes when I call her name!

My mom texted me and told me that since I left (about a week ago), she’s been acting strangely. Apparently she has been acting skittish and hides a lot. My mom said she didn’t come out for breakfast in the morning, and my mom had to go find her.

Presumably, she’s acting like this because she misses me. But of course, as a paranoid pet owner, I’m worried she’s sick. Is it normal for pets to act like this when they miss their person? Are there any signs I should be looking out for that might indicate it’s something else? How long can she stay depressed before it becomes worrisome? Thanks.
