My family has a very lovable but mischievous and clever dog, Duke. Hes a GSD/Husky, but we were told by the family friend who gifted us him that he was pure GSD. Anyway, we love him nonetheless but he's way too clever and if we dont keep our gates locked and fences proofed he'll find a way out to say hi to the neighbors and surrounding neighborhood. He's been escaping especially often lately because we've been having renovations done to the house and he loves playing with strangers and oftens follows their cars outside when they don't close our gates properly and my parents aren't there to keep an eye on him.
He's microchipped but we still worry about the period of time between someone or or my parents finding him and discovering that he's gone. I've been looking online for GPS dog trackers but I wanted to see if anyone has had any experiences with any brands as most of them are pretty costly.
Our property is about 1 acre fenced in, and the surrounding area is rather mountainous so cellular service may not be too great in certain areas of the neighborhood.
Thanks!
