Ok, so I got our 5 month old cat spayed today and I'm not sure how to best handle a variety of things. She's doing pretty much everything that she is not supposed to do.
-First thing: The paperwork clearly states to keep her as calm as possible and she should not run or jump or play too hard. Well, she is absolutely hyped right now. She's running and attacking us all. She has no chill.
-Second issue: If I put her in her crate to force calmness, the will use the time to lick the hell out of her incision. Another big no-no in the paperwork.
Third issue: The vet gave us the cone of shame, but she will absolutely not leave it on. She will scratch and fight. If you manage to get it on her, she will get it off.
Issue Four: The vet gave us shredded paper to put in her litter box so the litter doesn't get in her incision. She has never been more fascinated with her damn litter box in her entire life!!!! She's literally EATING the paper.
Help?? Anyone??
