We just moved into a new house, and we have some friends that will be living with us for around a year. Our cat is very shy and very skittish, he's 2 years old and only just recently getting comfortable during on our around our laps!
Their cat is older and female, presumably pretty tame. Their dog however, is a young puppy who is some kind of German Shepherd mix. He will probably destroy arhaus to some extent, I've already resigned myself to that. He's a real sweetie, just not super well trained, and still growing into his paws.
What is your advice in this situation? What can I do to make things at least a little more bearable for my cat? I want to protect him, and I also want him to keep up with his slow progress in getting comfortable around us in the first place.
