Hi! My main concern right now are the dogs. It is my cat and my fiancé’s dogs and we moved together a month ago. I just introduced my cat yesterday.
My cat feels threatened because they do follow him around a lot. Especially one of them who is always following him and smelling his butt. I’ve been up all night trying to supervise. I have seen my cat hiss at this one Pom at least 4 times and swat at her once. When my cat hides somewhere that the Pom can’t get to the Pom will sit near it and stare. This Pom is very hyper, likes a lot of attention and follows everyone around.
I’m worried that my cat will start to think the poms are prey and will start to go after it. My cat is a very sweet cat when he’s around me. No hostility. Around other cats who would visit my house he would be scared at first then just chase them around and get territorial.
My main concern is that the poms don’t learn. My cat swats at them and gets an eye and hurts them. That the cat will start thinking of them as prey and hunting them eventually.
What can I do to prevent this and if it occurs how can I curb it?
