I can't take my pets to college and my parents don't want to take care of them

I'll be going out of state for college (I'm a freshman) and there's a no pet policy so I can't bring them to the dorms with me. On campus apartments that accept pets would also be way too expensive and I don't want to risk sneaking them in. The college I want to go to is my number one too. However, I could go to another college that's closer (still out of state tho) so it would be easier to go home on weekends and such but the school doesn't //really// have my major and it's just not where I want to go. I don't know what I should do, do I sacrifice going to my dream school to take care of them or do I just leave them at home. My pets are in their later years but they're still very healthy and active! Should I convince my parents to take care of them and wire them money for food, vet appointments, litter, etc.? I just have a feeling that my mom would put them up for adoption and not tell me and I really don't want them to go back to a shelter (I adopted them ~2 years ago for emotional support but they're not registered as emotional support/therapy animals) honestly I'm just at a lost for what I want to do at this point.
