I posted here about the cat I adopted last Friday before. She is getting more used to us, but the meowing is increasing! Yesterday she spent the whole day okay, asking for rubs, sleeping on her own. In the evening we played with her for an hour, gave her wet food and went to sleep. She kept screaming from 10 PM to 3 AM when I gave up because I couldn’t sleep! My boyfriend went to play more with her until she didn’t seem interested anymore, fed her dry food and came back to our room. She kept meowing so loud we opened our bedroom door (we don’t allow her in our room because I am asthmatic) and thought that was what she wanted but she continued to scream in our living room, coming to our room to give us sad meows and returning to screaming in the living room. I can’t let her out because we live in an apartment and she is FELV+. She only stopped meowing at 6 AM when the sun started to rise. Can it be that she misses her foster family? She spent her whole life (almost six years) leaving in their house with the company of another FELV cat (it would always change because the other cat would die) and we think she meows sadly at us because we are not who she wanted even though she seems to like us. What can we do to help her?
