I have a 6 year old male cat. He's fixed if it matters, and he's a BIG boy, 20+ pounds. I moved in with my boyfriend about 10 months ago and at first the meowing was rough but it got better. My boyfriend has a female cat who's older, maybe 9-10. The cats do NOT get along. My cat is the bully and he will chase her and attack her if he sees her. So she stays in the bedroom and my cat stays out. We even build a screen door in the hallway entrance because at night my cat would scratch and rattle the door to get in and it would wake us up constantly. Back home, he would sleep in bed with me most nights. Like I said, his meowing was sometimes off and on but this last week or two have been HORRIBLE. We feed him right before bed, we try to ignore him, we exercise him. He wakes both me and my boyfriend up several times a night and it's literally causing us to have arguments and be crabby because we aren't sleeping. If I put him outside, he yowls louder to get back in which is also a problem because we have upstairs neighbors. My boyfriend did get a new roommate last week, but he hasn't been home in days. Can anyone help me out here? I feel like I've tried everything and I don't know how to get him to stop. It's like having a baby. He doesn't just meow, he yowls and screams more or less off and on all night. I would greatly appreciate any advice.
