I want to start off by saying that my brother is probably one of the biggest scumbags on the planet. Textbook narcissist, very mean, and doesn't deserve someone as sweet as the pup.
So we adopted the sweet girl back in 2009/10 from a family living across the street. She's super friendly, playful, and the biggest cuddle bug ever. I'm not really a dog person, but it's hard not to love her. A few summers ago, my brother and uncle took her hiking and let her swim in a lake or something. A few months after that I started to notice that the poor girl was getting really itchy and nibbling at her paws a lot. That turned into scooting her butt along the floor and presently, she smells like corn chips and continues nipping at her paws and she seems just overall distressed.
I have no money to take her to the vet, my brother does. But he hasn't, and it's almost like he refuses to. He pawns the dog off on other people, moved out and got another dog, moved back in, and wants to leave and take this new dog with him. He would rather put the sweet girl down than go to a vet and get her fucking medicine. I hate him.
Anyway, the point of this post was to try and possibly find a new home for her because she doesn't deserve how he's treating her. He's the only one capable right now of taking her to see someone and he won't. If he were to take the dog to the vet so she can be put down and I went with him, could I get in trouble for asking the vet to just put her under anesthesia and bring her somewhere to be put up for adopted instead? Typing this all out breaks my heart and I want to cry, but I have no means of helping that beautiful puppy and she deserves so much more than this.
