My sweet old cat is now blind

Let me tell you about Midnight. She is the best cat ever.

Midnight wasn't originally mine. A friend of mine was moving and she couldn't take all of her cats with her. She asked me if I could take them and I told her I had room for a cat but wasn't sure if I wanted a cat at the time. She invited me over for tea so we could talk about it. A soon as I plopped down on her sofa outside the kitchen this black cat plops down on my lap. I knew then that I had been chosen and Midnight has been mine ever since. My friend told me that she had been abused as a kitten and that she had trouble trusting people. That just made me love her more.

When I first brought her home, she hid under the sofa chair for ages. Slowly she made her way out from under the sofa, then onto the sofa, and eventually inched slowly closer until she sat on my lap. The first time she let me pet her I almost cried I was so happy. I just wanted to be kind to her and give her a good home. That was 13 years ago. She is my family. When I went through depression there were days where knowing she needed me was the only thing to get me out of bed and seeing how happy she was to see me made it bearable to be home. She would meow and hiss and people if they yelled at me when I sick, snuggles up close when I'm sad, and sleeps by my head as my protector. I love this cat so, so, so much.

Now, Midnight is blind. She can find the litter box just fine, knows how to ask for food, and as long as I keep the floor clear can still make her way on to my bed. What worries me is that, that's all she does now. Go to the litter box, go to eat, hop on my bed. She doesn't spend time in the living room anymore, she doesn't play, she doesn't follow me around anymore. I can understand that the last one is probably unrealistic now, but I'm worried about her.

What can I do to help her? Should I pick her up and bring her to the living room? Would that be scary since she can't see where she is? Should I put her in her bed in the living room? Should I buy new toys? I just want to give her the best possible environment and do anything I can for her. She's deserves it.

Any tips, advice, personal experience, would all be super appreciated. Thank you in advance!

TLDR: Best cat ever is now blind and not moving around as much. What should I do?
