I want to get a bird, most likely a budgie/parakeet. I posted a more general question about birds about a week ago but I want to do a little more research.
Where should I keep my budgie? If I keep it in my room will it get lonely while I’m at school or will it be okay? I was also thinking about putting it in my living room but it’s open concept and I read that having birds near your kitchen can cause lots of health problems for them.
Where do you buy a budgie? Can you buy one from a pet store that will be healthy and bred in good conditions or should I try and find a breeder for budgies?
Would my budgie be okay if I just had one? I want to have just one as a pet and have it sort of as a companion and play with it and stuff rather than just keeping it in a cage all day. Would it get lonely without another bird with it or would it be okay?
Is a budgie a lot of work? How much work it it to keep a budgie at home? If you take it out of the cage to fly around the room and stuff would it make a mess?
TLDR: I’m thinking of getting a bird but both my parents have some concerns and I wanted to ask people who own birds what they thought
