Hi - I went to the vet today and my dog had X-rays done on his stomach (he’s been vomiting, they were checking if he’d swallowed anything nasty). They got a bit of his hips in the x-ray and noticed his hips are bad and will possibly need surgery down the track. I asked if she will put this record and she said she has to, so now i can’t take out cover for this costly procedure. I guess my question is, how do pet insurance companies find out about pre-existing conditions? My dog has been to about 4 different vets in my city over the couple of years he’s been alive, so could i give the pet insurance company a history of his previous vet, and not include this vet? I’m a student and obviously can’t afford thousands on surgery at this point in my life, but will do anything for my dog so i’ll take out a loan if i have to - i would just rather weigh up my options first. thank you :)
