My S.O and I have been together for 5 1/2 years and finally moved in together last year after being long distance while we both finished university. We have been wanting to adopt a dog for a while and are finally in a place where we have the time and finances to look after one. We both have experience of owning dogs from we were younger & my S.O's parents both have dogs at the moment whom he helped train. The only issue is that when we signed the contract for our current house it specifically mentioned 'no pets'. Our initial contract has ended and we are now on a rolling contract month by month. We've tried to maintain a good relationship with our landlord and have looked after the house & any issues that have occurred. How do we approach our landlord to ask if there was any room for negotiation on the 'no pets' aspect? Does anyone have experience of how to handle a request like this?
