My male and female cat have been together since birth. They have always been the best friends ever, never had any fights. Last night I was woken up by a loud noise of cats hissing and miaowing at each other, when I came to see what was going on they were at each other's throats and the male one even drew blood from the other.
Since then they are unable to be in each others' presence, whenever they are within several meters of one another they both stop doing whetever they were doing, start hissing at each other and activating their "fighting poses".
Note that both cats are sterilized, so any sexual activity is out of the picture.
What could have happened to these wonderful loving cats overnight, that made them act this way? How can I resolve this situation? I am afraid one day I will come home from work and they will have caused serious damage to each other...
