URGENT Sister family forcing me to get rid of my cat

Hello, I'm a cat father(20) of a 5 year old female black cat. My current living situation is Im staying with my sister's family in Newark NJ, because they promised me a place to stay if I moved back to NJ( Originally lived in Salem, MA). They didn't want the cat because they already had 3 female cats and two dogs, but I refused to give up the cat I raised for five years so they tolerate her. I've raised her from infant kitten to a grown cat. She was the runt of the litter so she's a small cat. She always sleeps until I'm back home. She wasn't spaded at the time of the move, and I was aware that a cat becomes more hostile in a new environment. I've warned them multiple times to wait for the cat to adjust because her old environment was a quite one where she had no interaction with other cats. So they decide to go at my cat with brooms, throwing objects at her, pulling on her ears, and other things they say "we do that to our cats so it's okay." So of course my cat goes and scratches them as a reaction and they were surprised like my cat is a bad behaved animal. She has never scratched anyone when we lived back in our old home with my mother. Their cats gang up on my cat after she scathes their owners, things get worse. I've told them multiple times that my cat will probably stop scratching them if they treated her nicer, because animals act out through instinct. But of course they don't consider it, thinking Im being over protective of my cat. Im pretty sure an animal will act negative towards people who act negative or have bad intentions to do with the animal( correct me if Im wrong). So they thought if I spaded her, she'd act differently. She gets spaded and she hasn't scratched anyone in a long time, except my nephew(11) who has occasional mental breakdowns to have things go his way. He threw an entire chair at my cat when she saw him about to attack his mother with a chair. So she scratches him the most because she's afraid of him. But of course, my sister blames my cat is for scratching her little boy and I'm put in the wrong for raising a hellish cat. The moments where she scratches someone is always when the family is screaming at each other while my cat is in her cage watching. They always have conversations about my cat where they say "stupid fucking cat" when talking about her in front of her. It's always a problem that they bring up to me and I refuse every time. Their family is dysfunctional beyond belief and always vent out their frustrations on my cat and me. I honestly don't know what to do. I'm too afraid to ask other family member if i can live with them with my cat because most people don't want an animal in their homes. At the same time I can't imagine giving up my cat to a shelter because of how attached we are together. I'm not emotionally attached to my sister's family because of all the terrible things that they allow to happen like favoritism that lead to my nephew(11) to have these mental breakdowns, using me as their servant to do chores instead of doing my things for school and maintaining my diabetic care, blaming me for the actions of their children, etc. I'm afraid they'll send my cat to a shelter without my permission. Recently after my sister finished screaming at her son in front of my cat, my cat scratched her when my sister tried to let her out of the cage. Please anyone with advice on this situation.
