Allergy Medicine for Cats?

Hi r/pets! Does anyone have experience with using allergy medicines with cats? I have a 2-year old cat that seemingly is having an allergy issue on his rear leg. I took him to the vet earlier this year and they confirmed it wasn’t cancer or anything else. She (the vet) gave him a cortisone shot and suggested we try to find the trigger. The shot worked wonders but after a few months the bumps came back. They kind of look like mosquito bites. They don’t seem to bother him much but lately he’s been scratching one raw. I’d like to put something on it to sooth it but of course I want it to be safe for him. Anything thoughts or suggestions? And just to be clear, if he continues to mess with it I will absolutely take him to the vet. Our COVID cases are just very high right now and I’d like to hold off if possible since the vet confirmed it wasn’t anything life-threatening. Thank you!!
