Hello, not sure if this is a good place for this but it has been a constant worry. I will be adopting a kitten soon, and I am worried about breakable items on shelves and ledges. I don’t want the kitten to get injured especially if it was preventable. We have quite a few glass items/ frames on various shelves, and I’m not sure how to arrange them in a safe way.
Putting them elsewhere might not be a permanent solution as there isn’t much excess storage space where we live (so the shelves are where we put everything). A ledge above the stairs is my most worrying area, many picture frames line said ledge with a drop of a few feet since it’s above a stairway.
Would putting a scent or a texture cats dislike discourage the new kitten from going on places like those? I’ll also ensure that we play with it frequently so it doesn’t get the idea to engage in naughty behavior out of need for attention or boredom. A solution before the kitten is old enough to jump high enough would be great. Thanks in advance!
