Dog Crate trained but new home

Hey my gf has a dog. The dog is a shitzu and is crate trained. The issue is the dog has been at my house now for a second time and is having a hard time adjusting staying over at my house

Is there any tips or tricks I can suggest to help this transition. At her house the dog goes in and sleeps.

My house (most likely the house the dog will move to if we continue) the dog whines for a solid 20+ minutes.

I feel bad and wanna know if this is usual behaviour or not. I don't want to ruin the dogs safe place.
