I'm just looking for guidance on how to give my cats wet food, and how much. I have 3 cats, all adult, 10f-12lbs, 4m-9lbs, 9m-20lbs. The 20 pound cat is overweight and needs to diet his ideal weight is around 13/14, we kind of fucked up. The other 2 are at an appropriate weight.
We recently brought them onto a full wet food diet. We are feeding them blue wilderness brand chicken cat food and blue wilderness duck toppers/snacks.
Im seeing sources online say that a cat should be getting 3 ounces of wet food per 3 pounds of body weight, which ends up being almost 2 cans of 5.5 oz wet food per day per cat.
Right now we're feeding them 2-5.5oz cans a day split up between the 3 of them in the early morning and evening. And 3 oz of duck split between the 3 of them in the afternoon. That's just what they're eating. We aren't offering dry food anymore, so we give them the wet food and let them eat. There is always food left at the end of feedings and we discard the food once it's 2.5 hours old.
My other question is if we should heat up and/or add water to the food before feeding. I've seen differing reccomendations on this.
Sorry for block of text, but id really appreciate any advice.
