Unfortunately have had the experience of witnessing a dog go through the harsh effects of mammary cancer. I’m hoping to educate myself a little bit better and further my grieving process.
So, in dogs who have been spayed, do chances of other forms of cancer increase at all? Is there any science behind this? Any articles, papers, links, or studies that anyone can point me to?
To further that, I think spaying is a big decision and can be a big surgery and change for a dog, no matter the age. I want to be better informed so I can make a proper decision if my partner and I get a female puppy at some point. We have 2 other female dogs of whom are intact, and a male dog who has been neutered.
