So I have 4 cats, a mother and her 3 kittens. They are about 6 months old now and have never spent a day apart. Last night as I was bringing in stuff from my car one of them ran out (they are indoor only as I live on a very busy street.) I didn’t notice he’d escaped until the morning, when he was waiting by the back door crying. I let him in and when the other kittens saw him, they sniffed him all over then went on with their day. But when the mother sniffed him she began to hiss and make that weird moaning sound. I tried to pick her up and she attacked me. Then the kitten got closer and she attacked him I ended up locking her in my room for an hour until I had to go to work. She seemed to chill so I left them. When I came back they were all sleeping in the living room spread out. (Which was off because they always sleep in a pile) so I put the kitten next to his mom again to see if they are cool now and she immediately began to hiss and she ran to another room. I feel bad because the kitten doesn’t understand what’s happening and he keeps wanting to cuddle but she keeps attacking him. What do I do?!?
