Hi, I'm posting for my friend because she doesn't have Reddit but this problem keeps happening and multiple trips to the vet aren't helping.
My friend's dog Daisy is almost 7 and she was adopted from a shelter a year and a half ago. She's had recurring UTIs since then - this week was her 5th. The vet did a culture and then prescribed amoxicillin to give Daisy for 2 weeks. After 4 days, they tested her again and she was clear, but she started peeing blood again 3 weeks later and the vet said she had blood in her bladder. :(
Ultrasound, xrays and bloodwork all came back normal; organs are free of stones or crystals.
My friend has been really vigilant trying to keep infections from happening by cleaning Daisy after she goes #1 and 2 with medicated wipes and baby wipes.
So any ideas on what can be done to keep another UTI from happening? Has anyone else had this happen to their doggo and what was the solution?
Let us know if you have any insights and thanks in advance.
