Hi guys. I recently moved into a new home and the old owners abandoned their cat. She can't be more than 6 months old and I confirmed with the neighbors it was definitely theirs. She comes to my door crying every day so I've been taking care of her.
Here is my dilemma: All the shelters near me are very location specific and won't take her in because I don't live within their area. The only shelter that will take her is animal control. I have tried posting her online a bunch of different places and no one wants her. I asked animal control if I gave her up, would they call me to adopt her if no one else wanted her and they had to euthenize. They said no and that if the shelter got too full they would put her down.
On one hand, I want to keep her myself just to make sure she's safe. On the other hand, I already have four cats and I don't want another cat to take away from the attention they already deserve. I don't know what to do at this point. Do I keep her outside? Do I become the crazy cat lady? Do I risk the shelter?
