I’ve known good owners and bad owners, and good and bad owners.
I’ve been wanting a dog for a loooong time now, but I always put it out of my mind for one reason—that I would not be able to care for until it’s dying day.
What I mean by that is inevitably the dog would experience all the problems of old age.
I’m afraid that I wouldn’t be able to afford the cost of making sure it got all of the procedures it needed until the end.
Is this a good reason to not get a dog? I know many people who don’t think about this much, but will say that if they can’t afford it, they’ll give it away or put it down.
I feel like that may be irresponsible or maybe even heartless...
I’m super conflicted. Heeeelp pleaseee
