I got my kitten Momo a week ago today. The first few days everything seemed super normal. Lots of energy, lots of sleeping, lots of scratching and exploring and putting. Athens last four days though she hasn’t been eating much at all, I have to constantly try to trick her into foods. She eats maybe an eighth of a cup of food a day. I’ve tried her normal dry food she was on, new dry food, different wet foods. No changes. She likes the liquid of wet food though. She drinks a ton of water too and is always trying to sneak more out of my water glasses.
She doesn’t want to play anymore, she’ll look excited at her toy when i fling it but won’t chase it, or only for a second before giving up. She doesn’t seem particularly tired though. Just uninterested. Today i got home and she just meows at me constantly like somethings wrong. She does enjoy my attention though and will purr when i pet her. She’s been scratching at her left ear more than what seems normal and today i noticed it was scabbed and bleeding. She scratches it then whines.
She coughs on occasion and sometimes starts dry heaving like a hairball. Nothing ever comes out.
How do i get her to eat? Why is she drinking so much? Do i get her a cone for the ear? Why is she coughing? The earliest vet is on the 25th. Can she be okay with barely eating that long??
