update: update: Do I adopt an adult kitty or two kittens?

thank you to all of the responses on the original post! I didn't expect that many people to respond with advice and opinions, I really appreciate everyone who took the time to respond.

about a week after the original post, my boyfriend and I found two siblings for adoption via a local rescue group. while we were leaning towards adopting an adult kitty at this point, these two were extremely sweet and attached to each other and tbh we both fell in love. we ended up adopting them, and I 100% believe this was the right decision for us! I'm glad that we were able to provide them a home where they're able to stay together as I am pretty sure they were already bonded at the time of adoption, even tho the rescue wasn't re homing them as such. if they are separated at all (like being fed in different rooms since one of them is a food hog) they just stand outside of the door and cry.

I believe they were born into a shelter through a feral or stray cat, and a lot of things were very new for them! however, they adjusted pretty fast and are now super affectionate, running to my door every time I open it and asking for pets. one of them enjoys being picked up and held, the other one would prefer you let him come to you, but both will come and lie with me on the couch when I watch Netflix.

edit: i accidentally typed update twice in the title. f
