I don't know what to say. My cat was 11 months old and healthy, no issues before this. I brought her in just for a quick check-up because it seemed there was something stuck in her throat, like a furball or something. Her breathing was fine, she was drinking water, but she was seemingly dry heaving pretty often, and I could feel a tiny little lump in her throat when I touched around (she would also cough when I touched). I brought her into the vet and explained her symptoms. They put her on oxygen and immediately injected dextrose, antibiotics, and some sort of multivitamin into her. They advised me that they should keep her at the clinic to make sure she's okay. I went home because I had a job interview over Zoom that snuck up on me. 2 hours later I get a text from them saying she died. When I got there she had blood all over her face, the vet told me she vomited blood and then died. She informed me my cat was dehydrated, but I know that's bullshit because I was watching her very closely the past few days and she was drinking water just the same as she always does, if not even a bit more than usual. I asked for the results of the blood test, they said they couldn't do a blood test because there was "not enough blood".
Am I just completely ignorant in my understanding of veterinary practices, or is this not normal? They injected all sorts of drugs into her without even taking a blood test beforehand to see if she needed any of it. I truly can't imagine what happened to her aside from possibly an overdose. They never told me why she died, they said they don't know because they couldn't get a blood test.
I don't know man I'm at a loss, I called them again a few hours after I brought her home and they just told me the same stuff. Someone give me some insight please I'm heartbroken.
