For those who have recently lost a dog (or really any beloved pet)

I feel like for people who haven’t ever had dogs, it might seem a little crazy to be so sad when a dog passes away... but it's really hard to describe. It's really like losing a family member. Especially when you’ve had that dog since you were 8 years old, it feels like that dog has been by your side as long as you can remember. That dog has watched you grow up, from a tiny little girl into a woman. That dog was a puppy when you were a puppy, and now that dog has grown old and died. But you’re never really ready to let go of that puppy. So many years have passed, but you’re never ready to let go. Yet, against your will, that puppy, that dog you loved with all your soul, that part of you- has died. And will never return. And despite this harshness, we all must learn to live on.
