Hi everyone. I have a 12 year old cat who has taken to peeing on the mat we have by our front door.
It used to be we could leave the mat down during the day and roll it up at night but she's now taken to peeing on it during the day.
If there isn't a mat down, she'll find something else to pee on. I came downstairs to find pee in my sandals this morning.
I've tried putting toys, treats and food in the area, I've used sprays I got from the pet store that are supposed to keep cats away from furniture. Nothing has helped.
We're heading into our rainy season so not having a mat isn't feasible. I'm also tired of buying new mats.
We've had her checked by the vet and there is no medical issue. It's also not consistent. She'll go for weeks without doing it.
Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated.
