So I adopted an 8 week old female kitten, but I’m having trouble introducing her to the 11 week old male kitten I have at home already. After my new kitten got adjusted to her new home, I tried introducing the two with a door in between them. Then, I tried letting them meet each other with one in a carrier, and vice versa. Things seemed fine, although they seemed a bit scared of each other. From what I’ve read, hissing and scared cats is normal, and kittens should get along very quickly, so afterwards, I had them together in one room. My 11 week kitten wanted to play with my new kitten so badly, but my new kitten is scared of him. She has that arched back, fluffy tail, and hisses at him. Things get worse when he tries to play rough wrestle with her. Whenever I remove her from the room because things seemed aggressive, he scratches and meows at the door where she’s at because he wants in.
What should I do to ensure a successful introduction?
