How much to feed a 6 month old kitten?

My kitten (domestic short hair) is currently around 5.5lbs and 6 months old. I give him 3/4 a cup of dry food, and 1 can of wet food (3.3oz) split for the morning and evening. I also feed him boiled chicken once or twice a week in addition to his evening wet food. He is always hungry so I fear that I may be underfeeding him. Should I be giving him more food or is this a healthy amount?

**I've also heard that dry food in general is unhealthy. Is it only if their diet is solely dry food, or dependent on the brand (I use Nature's Variety Original Chicken Kitten Dry Food)? Should I opt for less dry food and more wet food (Ex. 1/2 a cup of dry food, 1.5 cans of wet food)?

Thank you ;;
