My 1yr old female cat is acting out aggressively towards me because of our new 5 month old male kitten. Help?

So I posted yesterday asking about the best way to introduce them when the time came, and got great advice.

My problem now seems to be that my resident cat is acting up towards me now. I have the kitten corralled in my bedroom so he can explore and get used to the scents of the house. He’s doing absolutely great so far. I can tell he’s almost ready to explore other parts of the house.

I have fed them at the same time with my bedroom door between them, and today was the first day that my female cat didn’t hiss or growl. So I went to give her a treat for being good. She wasn’t near the kitten’s door when I came in with her treat, but she hissed, did a high pitched noise and bit my hand.

Now, she did not bite hard, nor were her claws out when she swatted at me. Whenever she does this it’s never hard. It’s more like a warning if anything. (I say whenever she does this because she got aggressive with me previously when my 11 year old cat was sick with cancer and anytime I handled him to give him his medication she would go ballistic and do the same warning attack)

I just don’t know what to do. She’s usually a pretty sassy cat, but not to this extent. I feel like she hates me for bringing the new kitten home.

How can I fix this? I don’t want her to hate me I feel so sad over this :(
