I am getting my son a cat in the next few weeks. We are adopting from the humane society and are looking at a cat that is 7 months and one that is just over a year. We do have two dogs so I want to make sure kitty has space to get away from the dogs if needed. I am getting a cat tree and a shelf for the food for the living room. I was also thinking about getting a couple of cat doors so he can come and go from my son’s room and the basement as desired. The plan is to have a litter box in the upstairs bathroom and possibly one in the basement. I don’t want the basement to become his favorite space but I do want him to have a chill place when needed, especially during the day when the dogs are free reign.
What else should we have in the basement for the cat?
