I have now lost both of my cats during this COVID-19 circus. They were old and sick, but in both cases there were strong signs that their doctors were overloaded with patients and working with incomplete knowledge of their complicated health histories. We were actually refunded the full cost of one of those hospitalizations because I pushed for a medical review and they acknowledged that my cat should have received a blood transfusion before (not after) surgery.
Even if the hospital has your pet’s full medical record, don’t take for granted that doctors and nurses are reviewing them thoroughly and making decisions for your pet with every relevant retail. Send in your pet with a concise summary of his/her health history, medications and any other major relevant details.
