Hello, me and my family are planning on adopting a puppy but we’re still not sure what will happen. We don’t know if it’s safe to adopt an adult dog (since story time: our previous family dog hates cats and rats so we built him his own little mini house in our backyard for him to stay and we would always keep a closer eye on our two cats. Because one time we just seen a TW!!! : dead kitten. I think it was a stray and I don’t know how it got into our backyard but it did and I think my dog thinks it’s a rat that why he killed it. It was sad so we gave the kitten a little funeral so he/she could rest in peace. So that’s a little back story)
I think it’s safe when it’s a puppy so the puppy can get used to the cats and when he/she’s older he/she doesn’t kill my cats. But my question is, will he act like a cat? Like, would he get used to what a cat does since there is no other puppy/dog? I’d be shock when he/she meows, not bark. Lmao jk. We’re still deciding so please let us know if this is a good idea or not. Share your thoughts or maybe experiences if this happened to you too. Thank you!
