I'm banned from AskVet and the mods didn't lift my ban despite telling them about the street cats so here I am.
The beautiful tortie street cat of the condo fell and broke her tail. We took her to the municipilaty's vet and her tail got removed, she had antibiotics for a week and released back to the condo yard last week. Her stitches were there. We took her back to check the situation today and turned out her wound got infected again. She was put on antibiotics for 3 days this time. She will stay at a volunteer's house until Wednesday. We are giving her multivitamin too.
My question is, when will it be safe for her to go back to the condo yard? That's where she is use to live so staying in a house at a stranger's is stressful for her too but obviously it's worse if her wound keeps getting infected again. Does anyone have experience with tail amputation recovery?
