I've been a dog person all my life, and still am. But I just moved into a new place that's not quite big enough for a dog but is good for a cat. I work from home and the wife is gone all day so I wanted some companion to spend the day with. I found a kitten who is less than 1 year old on Kijiji, a site similar to Craigslist.
The previous owner didn't have time for her, or at least that's what they said. When I went to pick her up she immediately ran up to me wanting to play. She adapted to her new home very quickly and isn't afraid of anything. The one thing that makes me curious is how overly affectionate she is. She is an absolute baby. She follows me everywhere, lays as close to my face as possible (sometimes literally sleeping on my head) and she feels the need to touch my face with her paw. If I pick her up she puts her paws around my shoulder, wanting to be held like a baby would. If I'm at my desk, she'll sleep on my arms.
I've personally never seen this behaviour in a cat before. If she isn't playing with her toys, she's all over me. I know she's a kitten so she'll probably out grow it. Has anyone else had this experience before?
