I am looking to adopt a cat this week. I've grown up with cats and dogs and I am ready for my own kitty. I live in an apartment and the cat would be an indoor cat. I am interested in putting nail caps on the cat that I adopt, but only if it is safe. I know the cat's claws are his defense, but he would be an indoor cat and the only animal in the household. I would only do it once the cat trusts me and my roommate and feels safe in his new environment. I also would NEVER declaw my cat (because it's cruel and, thankfully, illegal here. Even if it were legal i would NEVER).
Anyways, could it harm the cat in any way? I would replace them when needed and do it safely, but I just want to be sure. If not, then I won't do it.
Thanks everyone! The cat im looking at adopting is so cute. Im going to name him Kahjiit.
