Automatic Feeder Recommendations?

I'm looking for an automatic pet feeder for my cat which will dispense two small kibble meals each day (1/8 cup). His other two meals are wet food.

I wanted a reputable brand which led me to the Petsafe Smart Feed Automatic Feeder and Costco has it on currently for $195 (Canada). My only concern is I have read that even though it takes back up batteries, if it disconnects from Wi-Fi for whatever reason, it will stop feeding until you manually reprogram it. It's not often I am away for long but I would like the flexibility of being away for multiple nights knowing he was getting fed. Missing food one night is one thing if it malfunctioned but multiple days I am not comfortable with.

Ideally I'd like to keep it below $300 but interested in hearing what is out there and any recommendations.

Also, if anybody here does have the Petsafe model, I'd love to hear your feedback on it and if you are away but have access to the app, can you tell if the feeder has been disconnected from Wi-Fi?

I'd be interested in hearing about the Petsafe model that isn't Wi-Fi connected too if anybody has one. That one is $140 for me.
