I take my kitten out for walks 3-4 times a day in a harness. I also play with him for about an hour indoors each day with toys and tossing dry feed that he jumps high in the air to grab. He's extremely active and vocal about going out etc, he even has a sound he makes when he gets dissapointed if I don't wake up/I'm not playing with him well enough and he runs off. Outside he walks as far as a little dog and climbs trees though I have to stop him before he climbs too high.
Hes going to move to a house out in the woods with my brother soon (its really my brothers cat but he and my brother has lived with me for the 2.5 months we've had the cat. The house is in the same town where I live. There will be lots of mice to catch and we'll get a gps collar for him as he's obviously meant to be an outdoor cat.
But my brother and I are going abroad for a month in january and our cat will have to stay with our mom which means a lot less play time and he'll be far more lonely as she works nights.
When we don't play with him he basically lays down and rests or runs to the door asking to be walked. Im afraid he's lonely and bored whenever we're not around etc and its a ton of work keeping him happy.
So I was thinking of getting another cat. What kind of cat should I get given our cats extreme activity level?
