How can I help my newly adopted cat feel more comfortable?

Hey there ,

Me and my gf adopted a lovely 3yrs old cat that her owner gave since she was leaving the country.

She apperantly was very comfortable around her old house and even used to hang outside but ever since we got her yesterday she's been hiding under the refrigerator.

She seems to be ok with me and my gf as she lets us pet her when we reach under and even purrs , but completely refuses to get out from under there.

I understand that it might take her some time to get adjusted as its all of us living in a single living space (studio apartment) , but its a bit concerning as she's been under there since I woke up 10h ago and not once got out to eat/drink/pee/poo.

How can I help her feel better about coming out and exploring her new living space?
