Hi guys, I have a 3 year old spayed male cat. I adopted him from the humane society 3 years ago. He was a very difficult kitty with high anxiety levels and was afraid of humans. The humane society noted he had some incidents before being brought in and had some accidents with the volunteers that resulted in him being very distrustful and fearful. It took a lot of work to get him to trust me as his owner and then the rest of the family. He had behavioral problems as an inside only kitty so I started letting him outside little by little which he took to very well. He is now both an inside and outdoor cat. One problem though is he hates wearing collars so I buy him multiple but they’ll only last him at most a week before he takes them off and I have to replace it (I’m too nervous to buy the non breakaway type though). This whole week he had not arrived home in the evenings but would be there in the mornings when my dad left for work (~4am). Well tonight I checked him inside for the night to which he seemed very anxious and hid instantly. I noticed he looked different. He had the appearance of having visited the groomers i.e hair a bit fluffier, eye crusties gone, butt cleaner (I try not to do groomers visits very often because it sets off his anxiety for DAYS following..I prefer to bathe him at home although he hates that process as well). Well I’m worried some neighbors may be trying to keep him. Why groom a strangers cat right? What do you guys think? Am I overly suspicious?
Also does anyone have any cat tracker recommendations? I’ve seen some good reviews on Whistle Go Explore, Petfon, & Tile. But I’m not quite sure which one to go with.
He’s very well taken care of here, he has a great vet, an awesome cat sitter. If you have any questions I can answer them. I have never had pets aside from a childhood dog so this is my first time experiencing something like this.
