Hi! I know all of this information differs from person to person, but I just recently adopted an adult cat (3-5 years old). It listed him as 12 pounds on the adoption listing, and he seems a little heavier than desired, but I have a couple more weeks until his initial vet appt for the official ruling. I bought Merrick dry food, and have been feeding him 1/2 a cup of dry food at 8am - he grazes on this throughout the day, and then about 1-2 oz of wet food at around 8pm. I usually mix in as much water to the wet food as possible, even though he does drink water throughout the day. My question is - is this way too much food? Also, what’s the consensus on providing him the full 1/2 cup during the day, and letting him graze as he pleases? I would do more timed meals, since I am at home, but when I do (presumably) go back to work during the day at some point, I don’t want him to get used to that routine. Let me know what you think!
