I am thinking of getting a second dog to keep my current one company. Advice?

So I'm thinking of getting a second dog to keep my 10-year-old Chow Shepherd mix company. my dog grew up around several other dogs so I know he's great with other dogs and enjoys their company but I'm not really sure if it will help his/our situation. My dog is really well trained and he doesn't go to the bathroom in the house or tear anything up but I can tell he's pretty lonely. All of our local dog parks are shut down cuz of covid and I'm not really having any social interactions with people due to quarantine. I work a sales job from 10:45 in the morning to 8:00 at night and I live literally 4 minutes away from my job. I own my house and I have a fenced in yard. A co-worker is giving away a 1.5-year-old female Rottweiler I'm not sure if she's purebred or not. I wanted advice from anyone who owns a Rottweiler or anyone who has gotten a second dog to keep the first dog company. Stop being said this is not the only reason I want this dog I do love dogs and have the financial means to take care of this dog but I want to know does anyone think that it would be pointless or not nice to subject another dog to my work schedule. I am going to get a dog door soon so my dog will have free access to indoors and the yard. I am also making arrangements to have a friend come several times a week at least if not the five days a week I work spend time with my dogs and take them for a walk.
