My boyfriend's and my cat, Katniss, was recently diagnosed with large cell lymphoma in her stomach and we have her first chemo appointment today (I think, they might just be going over the procedure). We're going to college to be vets, so thankfully we're already in the town with the teaching hospital and don't have to drive a long way.
I want to make sure she feels loved and safe and all of those happy things even if she feels crummy, but her prognosis, from what we've been hearing, could be good or really not good. Since we don't have an idea of her remaining time with us, I have been trying to think of things that would be healthy for her long-term but also make her happy in the short term. She's very smart and has a very defined personality, but all she wants currently is a pile of blankets and Friskies Lil' Soups. I feel bad that those are basically the only things I can do for her, so how do you/would you spoil your cats?
