Hi! I’m my dogs favorite, I’m not bragging, that’s just important information for my question. I’m going away to another country for four months starting at the end of January, and my dog is staying home with my family of course. He has become very close with me, sleeping with me, following me, playing with me, etc. He has a lot of energy and I am the one who gives him the majority of his enrichment. We have lots of enrichment toys for him, but I am the one who usually sets them up. I am likely going to write up a bunch of activities he enjoys so my family can try and do them for him, but it will likely only happen when my brother wants to do something, and I worry my parents will get fed up with him misbehaving due to boredom. He also will likely be very upset and confused that I am gone. Is there anything I can have my parents do to help him acclimate to me being gone? And I know logically he won’t forget me, but is there a chance of him being much less attached to me when I return? I would understand, but I’d be kind of upset :( Thanks in advance!
