My 5 months old kitten is vomiting brown liquid (picture)?

Hello everyone.

This is my first time having a cat so I have 0 confidence in this area. But this is stressing me out.

I have a 5 month old kitten (Persian, but the hair isn’t long). Last week I noticed little brownish liquid with undigested things/food in it. It did not smell bad nor looked like vomit so I thought maybe that’s how they get rid of hairballs or something.

This morning I woke up to the exact same thing basically. I took a picture this time. I’m not sure what to make of it because it almost smells like candy, but I know it’s not. It has to be vomit. And given the color I’m freaked out.

He did not eat prior to vomiting. He’s fully vaccinated. There are many changes as he’s a new pet (got him a month ago) so we’re constantly switching up litter and food brands. I’m also randomly trying different treats and such on him. So it’s impossible to tell what causes it. Also, he chews on on random things! I even caught him trying to eat/play with his liter (wtf?).

After calling the vet, they mentioned to schedule a visit if it happens more than once a day. So I’m on the watch.

Thanks! image here

Edit: I could’ve sworn there was a piece of chicken there too. It may be worth mentioning that the night before I gave him a few of those churu bites that has chicken in them and I was under the impression that he had a little hard time biting it down. I give him this sporadically so I’m not sure if I gave it last time as well.
